held each year on 25 April as the Anzac Day commemorates the members of Sabah in World War 2, particularly prisoners of war (Pow) participating in the death march from Sandakan to Ranau in 1945. It is commonly believed that the wives and loved ones of the ANZAC would send “Anzac Cookies/Biscuits” to their men during that war. The cookies were able to withstand not only the overseas travel, but still be edible. They were a welcome treat from home for the soldiers who were far away.
